Welcome to The
Academy of Performing Arts! The Academy shares the Burton Park Building with Encore! Theater (www.encoretheater.org)
located at 6615 38th Avenue Northwest in Gig Harbor. It is a great partnership as the
two separate organizations work cooperatively to bring cultural skills and
events to the community. Our building isn't pretty, but our classes are the best in Gig Harbor.

THEATER
One Week Theater Workshops for Encore! Youth Theater offer training in voice, theater and dance. For $200, the
one week camp runs from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m Monday through Friday, and all students have a speaking role in two public performances
Saturday (between noon and 7:00 p.m.).
Six weeks of camps are available. Scripts and CDs are included.
Session I July 6-July 11th
Session II July 13-July 18th Session III July 20th-July 25th
Session IV July 27th-August 1st Session V August 3rd-August 8th
Session VI August 10th-August 15th
DANCE
CREATIVE DANCE: A fun movement experience for 3-7 year olds. Basic dance skills are taught in a creative way.
Beginning June 24th and meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays for 4 weeks, class for boys and girls is from 9:00 a.m. - 9:55 a.m. Second session
begins July 22nd. $90.00 per session.
DANCE & CHEERLEADING: One week workshops begin July 6th for $135/week. Each session is a new workshop and runs Monday - Friday.
From 10:00 to 11:25 youngsters 8-12 years old are taught a variety of dance and cheerleading techniques. Instructors work with
students in Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet & Pom. Short routines will be demonstrated in the studio on the final day of classes for family and friends.
NUTCRACKER
Participate in the annual Christmas tradition! Classes and rehearsal result in a December production at PHS in December. Beginning Wednesday,
June 24th and ending August 13th, the summer class is $260 ($130/month) and is held Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The Senior Division
meets 8:00 - 10:00 and Jr. Division (minimum age is 7 yrs.) meets at 10:00 - 12:00. Level placement is at the discretion of the instructors.
Starting in the fall a mandatory Wednesday class will be added on Wednesdays at 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. in addition to the regular classes.
Fall Classes
The Academy of Performing Arts, the recognized school for Encore! Theater, offers a range of classes throughout the school year. Classes in all the performing arts are offered. In addition to an incredibly strong program in all levels of classical ballet resulting in our performing group Danse Ensemble, we have classes in Creative Dance, Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Differing Abilities and Ballroom. We also offer Acting classes, Improvisation, Piano, Voice and Play Production workshops. Call 253-851-1630 to register or for more information. Classes begin on the first day of school. Classes are held at 6615 38th Avenue Northwest in Gig Harbor. Some of the potential performing opportunities include "Nutcracker, Beyond the Dream", "Seussical", "Sleeping Beauty" or "Cinderella" , "Alice in Wonderland", "The Sword in the Stone", "Rapunzel", or "Thumbelina".
