Performances:  Because dance is a performing art form, recitals will be held every second year in June of odd numbered years, with all students participating.  This should be a rewarding experience for the child as well as a learning experience.  For the program, each parent purchases a costume selected by the director which becomes the child's property at the conclusion of the year.  If the child cannot participate, or does not wish to participate, please inform the director no later than the first of December.  They may still attend classes.

The Academy believes in the technique of ballet as the standard for all dance.  We encourage all students to study ballet in addition to other styles.  In the Ballet program, advancement to the next level of work is dependent upon each child's grasp of the prior year's material.  A typical progression is as follows:

Arrangements can always be made if a student or parent wishes for more classes.  Needless to say, the harder a dancer dances, the stronger and more proficient she or he becomes, but the above is only a guide.
