Jene Greenwood Jones

Instructor of Dance

Jene began her study of dance at the age of four with the Jo Emery School of Ballet in Tacoma.  At the age of 5, Jene transferred to the Gig Harbor School of Performing Arts.  As well as performing with GHSPA's Dance Ensemble, she participated as a Teaching Assistant for five years developing her skills as an instructor.  Upon her graduation from High School, Jene spent a summer studying Dance Theater at the University of Washington.  Jene then danced for a year in Finland, studying the Russian Vaganova style of ballet, and a year in France studying the French style.   She has a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in French. Before her employment with The Academy of Performing Arts commencing in September of 1999, Jene taught ballet and French (she is fluent in the language) in the Oregon public school system.  Besides studying ballet, Jene has been a competitive ballroom dancer and has performed as an actress, dancer, or singer in over 40 theatrical productions.  A dynamic teacher, Jene brings much to our program; we are thankful for her participation.
